RECOIL

STARTER

When repairing recoil starter, disassemble and reassemble in the following procedures.

Tools

Socket. wrench, Needle nose pliers, Screw driver.

DISASSEMBLY

(1)

Remove recoil starter from engine.

(2)

Pull starting knob to pull out starter rope.

(See

Fig. 21.)

Hold reel with thumb and pull starter rope

inside case. (See Fig. 22.)

(4)

Rewind

rope

clockwise until rotation stops

by holding starter rope using the notch on

the reel.

When rewinding the rope, control rotation by

pressing the

reel

with thumb.
